In the hand

The Japanese all-rounder, forged in Bohol spring steel.

The bunka's reverse-tanto tip gives it a point that pierces and a straight edge that pushes through vegetables and fish alike. Ours is forged thin, left black on the flats and ground bright at the edge.

A straight horn handle, octagonal in the Japanese manner, with a brass ferrule. The rosewood saya is pinned, not glued.

Made for
A single knife for the cook who wants one blade to do everything.
