Where we ship
To most of the world. At checkout you will see the countries we currently ship to. If yours is not listed, ask; often it is a question of confirming the rules at your border rather than a refusal.
Import rules on blades
You are responsible for checking that the blade you order may be imported into your country. Kitchen and utility knives are legal almost everywhere. Long blades, and some patterns such as the kukri, are restricted or require a permit in some countries, and rules change. Several countries exempt hand-forged blades made by traditional methods, which ours are; others do not distinguish. We will not knowingly ship to a destination where the item is prohibited, and we will tell you if we have doubts before forging begins. A blade seized by customs for a prohibition the buyer could have checked is not refundable.
Duties and taxes
Import duty, VAT or GST and courier brokerage fees at your border are the buyer’s responsibility and are not included in our prices. We declare the true contents and value on every shipment. We will not mark a blade as a gift or under-declare its value.
Timing
- Forging: about 30 days from deposit, longer for sets and long blades.
- Balance invoice: when your blade is finished and photographed.
- Dispatch: within three working days of the balance clearing.
- Transit: typically 5 to 15 days, with tracking.
Packaging
Each blade travels oiled, in its sheath, in a wooden box, with a care card. Sets travel in a single box with a slot for each piece.
